Naprzeciwko

2022 - ongoing

ENTwo villages sit facing one another at the point where the river Oder curves gently westwards towards Frankfurt and Słubice in the north. Originally belonging to the same community, the river that once joined the two halves became its dividing line after the end of World War II: Polish on one side, German on the other. To this day, there is no ferry service between the two villages – though old memories and resurrected traditions are helping to create new ties that connect one riverbank to the other.
